Bonner's handling of swine flu notification under scrutiny in New Bedford

"I think letters should have been sent home," School Committee member Dr. John Fletcher said. "We know that a lot of parents in New Bedford don't have computers."

Fletcher said Bonner notified the School Committee via e-mail, then he contacted her for more information. He said she "declined to tell me" which school the child was attending. "I think the School Committee could have been trusted with that information," he said.

History tells us that all "good" dictators keep the public in the dark.

She pulled the same stunt earlier in the year at keith. Remember the food fight. A teacher was hit by a student and so was a police officer. She did not notify the school committee and the only reason the public knew was because someone from the school called the standard times. When the s-t called her she would not return their calls.

Read the articles below and you'll see the same pattern.

Bonner had all the answers. Now that it's to late we realize she doesn't even know the questions.

That's what you get when you hire an outsider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 months of ignoring this issues, H1N1 is a bad cold and there isn't anything you can do to prevent catching it. The Lice issue on the other hand, One students hair is falling out from the repeated treatments to get rid of the lice. I'm almost sure the child would rather have swine flu than a bald spot that she has now. a quote from this childs parent to "Mrs Bonner"

"I would like to bring to your attention my efforts at getting some action at the Taylor school regarding an out of control lice outbreak that has been going on for four months to no avail. I tried to make this as short as possible, but honestly, this has been going on for FOUR months and this is it. Thank you for your time.
My daughter is in the kindergarten class, and has had head lice off and on since February. When I say off and on, I'm talking SEVEN times. Once or twice I can deal with. The fact is, she has had toxic chemical treatments applied to her head seven times now. (2/10, 2/17 & 2/24 with Pyrinyl; 3/13, 3/18 & 3/26 with Nix; and 4/25 with OVA, a prescription from her pediatrician)
The school nurse, Principal Matt Riley, nurse supervisor Karen Regan and Dr. Portia Bonner all are aware of my frustration. I have had many conversations with the school nurse. I have yet to have a phone conversation with Matt. He has not replied to my emails and when I have left him with a specific number to reach me at, he called my home both times to leave a message. I feel like I am being dodged. I spoke with Karen and her concerns were that sending home a note to the K5 class to be treated would take "alot of trees" and may cause overreaction by the media. My daughter has a patch of hair that fell out and is not growing back thanks to the treatments. I am not so much concerned for the trees (which really we are only talking 25 pieces of paper) "

For a super who makes $160,000+ a year, she doesn't seem interested in anything but going on vacation to cape Verde. The city of New Bedford really really is getting it handed to them with the damage this lady is doing by NOT DOING HER JOB ! Id take swine flu over the lice any day. By law they have to report certain things, Just like the paramedics who didn't do CPR LAST December, as long as it eventually "comes out," they consider it ok. Why does the school department go to such lengths to cover up and hide things ????

What about the children? That's all she talked about before she got the job. Now she acts like they don't matter. Shame on her.

I wish she'd move to Cape Verde. No, I've changed my mind, I wouldn't wish her on any school department.
