Race to the Top is a JOKE! The abuse of high-stakes standardized tests will now not only be used to punish schools (and those students attending those punished schools), but under RTTP rules, they will be used to punish teachers. The rules released are requiring standardized tests to be used to evaluate teachers. This is like evaluating dentists on the number of cavities their patients have (dentists in areas of poverty will have WAY more, but will likely do more for their patients than those of dentists whose patients have twice-yearly cleanings).
