Submitted by MTA President, Anne Wass
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education produced an on‐line survey that asks respondents to essentially rubber stamp or reject the various elements of the DESE RTTT Round One application. The survey is quite long and does not allow the respondent to identify “solutions” that the DESE has not thought of and/or included in their initial application.
We believe that the opinions of teachers and school leaders has not be sufficiently included in the RTTT work to date. Please disseminate this advisory and/or the link to your members. Ask them to the complete the survey.
. MTA has developed its own survey.
. Educators may take the survey before 5:00 PM on April 29.
To take the survey, go to http://www.mtasurveys.org/se.ashx?s=0B87CA7D64E956A9
MTA’s Center for Education Policy and Practice and Communications Division will then compile the data into a report share the responses with DESE. The report will also be posted on the MTA web site in the RTTT section: www.massteacher.org/rttt.
