Urgent Health Insurance Update .... from Anne Wass

The Senate may vote on Wednesday or Thursday, May 26 or 27, to make changes in municipal health insurance as part of the budget. Depending on what amendments are proposed, this vote could significantly weaken your right to bargain over health insurance benefits. Please go to http://links.massteacher.org/insurance today to ask your Senator to support the rights of teachers and other municipal employees to have a meaningful role in determining their health insurance benefits through collective bargaining. Let them know you understand that cost-savings are needed during these tough economic times, but that employees need to be part of the discussion about how to achieve savings in a way that is fair to all.
