School Committee begins work on closing $14M budget gap

The School Committee addressed the $14.4 million shortfall in the School Department's fiscal 2011 budget by voting to approve about $7million in cuts.

scary times call for drastic measures. But having an Asst. Supt for Diversity is not a wise way to preserve jobs... besides we already have a supt. that did perform that job and I'm sure will still make sure that the district is run fairly and equitably for all races, creeds and orientations.

How many teachers = 1 Asst. Supt for Diversity? Can we afford it?

We cannot afford additional administrators. Preserving core academic teachers must be our top priority.
