The meeting is to discuss and to consider a counter-proposal to the School Committee proposal, which, if ratified by the membership, would result in a concession. Please make every effort to attend.

Senate passes Education Jobs Bill! House had passed a similar bill earlier in the summer and will now be able to pass this bill next week. The difficult vote was in the Senate...and that passed...House should not be a problem.
$10 Billion for schools is on the way. New Bedford should receive approximately $5.5 million if a formula similar to Chapter 70 funding is used.

While the news in the Senate was good today, we should proceed cautiously. I won't believe it until New Bedford actually receives the cash.
