Much ado about nothing

There was an interesting piece in the Standard Times on Wednesday, about how the innovation schools debate has no place in our school’s classrooms. This mandate comes after one of the district’s twelve hundred teachers complained about a petition against innovation schools that was circulating around.

One person is highly offended by being asked to sign a petition- a common practice in a free nation that takes all of five seconds of disruption. This is spun as a big deal by the rabidly pro innovation school newspaper.

Has everyone forgotten that the anticipated principal of the innovation school is Jen Clune? Isn't it true that she doesn't have a license to be a principal? Why doesn't the Unger rag Marlene Pollock and Jack Pinmento think that's important? Why isn't Justin Braga writing speeches about that?

I'm sure Craig Dutra and his wife are outraged by the "disruption". I wonder if her arrest for drunk driving while craig was in the car (also intoxicated) was disruptive to the police? The community foundation must be proud of him. He certainly is a pillar of our community.

Any potential parent should be encouraged to OPT OUT of these schools within schools. The allure must be taken away. Let's do some home visits! Jen has a license to make me ill.

The license is a non issue. It is quite possible that it will be reached by the time this thing is supposed to open. Focus on the real issues: the denial of a vote to faculty, the two school committee people hijacking the agenda, the non budgeted building modifications, and the budgets.

The license is an issue. Any other person wouldn't even get an interview without the proper credentials. I guess that it doesn't matter if you are setting up an innovation schools. I'm sure Dese will disregard it's own policies for Jen. After all her opinion and desires are more important then the rest of us at Gomes. Long live queen Jen.
