It is distressing that we have a monument for fallen educators . Though I am grateful for the thought and meaning behind it, I feel anxious that this could happen. We truly need social- emotional health education. Life isn't a high stakes test. Let's not focus on what the government thinks we should. When was the last time they were in a classroom? We need to educate the whole child.
The sooner Massachusetts, and all the cities and towns heed that call, the sooner education will be what it should have been all these tested years. Too late for so many children of the Commonwealth, including my own.
