Youpeople are to hard on Dr. Bonner. She is a brand new Super. She has no expieriance as a Super. She was never a Super before. This is her first time so you learn on the job. She's learnning. so how can you expect her not to make mistakes.

I'm not impressed.

At first I thought she was really smart but after meeting her recently I realize she has no clue.

Train wreck.

She is not what I expected.

One year and your ready to run her out of town, and replace her with who???? Be careful what you wish for!

at $160,000 she doesn't have room to make the mistakes she has made... besides, if we make mistakes in our first year, we get a pink non-renwal slip!

I don't know why she chose to pursue this line of work because every time she is quoted it makes her sound like she doesn't even like teachers.

I was looking forward to
"new blood" selected to lead me in my vocation. I feel Dr. Bonner made a fatal error in not getting her teaching staff on board with her ideas and letting those "new" politicians lead her around by the nose. I want to be part of a solution not part of the problem. I am not the enemy. I doubt she'll be here for long and then again we'll be searching for a replacement. More "new" blood I suppose. The agendas of those "new" School Committee members hurs our kids, yet they are clueless to do anything about it. Change needs to begin in the homes of these young people. Education must be valued and must be shown as the way out of horrible situations. Oh but we know that! I'm a trained professional educator: highly qualified. So are a good majority of you. What are the qualifications of our school committee members? Do you think we should hold the school committee accountable for the screwups they impose on our kids?

To SuzieQ you CAN hold the school Committee accountable its called VOTE!!!!!

She seems uncomfortable when speaking to students. She seems abrasive when speaking to adults.
I think she looks better on paper and would be better working in a scientific lab creating the ultimate teacher.

I am disappointed with her first year and had high hopes for her. It must have been wishful thinking that Dr. Bonner would start by straightening out some of the unprofessional and often times inappropriate principals and administrators during her first year.

Once again some continue to make negative statements about administrators. This is a union blog and some administrators are union members who pay dues and take part in union issues. Where are the PROFESSIONAL discussions?

Let's be frank. Administrators may or may not be union members but that issue does not exclude them from comment on this blog. The ideal scenario given any situation especially when it comes to educating the youth of our beloved city is professionalism and collaboration. However the issue in many cases pertaining toissues of concern within New Bedford is with administrators that are political appointees who seem to be more interested in an agenda than what is good for our kids. From individuals like Dr. Bonner who appears to have an agenda that does not adhere to good moral character. she has been unreasonable with theunion, the mayor , and the school committee. this former acting superintendant who was not given a job as superintendant with her prior district certainly met the level of incompentancy New bedford was seeking. a school committee that failed in the screening process and does not want to expend the political capital of admitting their mistake and firing her, or can't due to the economic times and a foolish contact with probably no termination proceedings that won't cost the city big bucks. We can certainly countinue but that will be enough for now. LET'S BE HONEST WITH OURSELVES, OUR CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE WE CAN'T AFFORD TO COUNTINUE WITH ALL OF THIS FOOLISHNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again where is the professionalism of this site. According to this blog the superintendent is a disappointment, administors are a disappointment and the school committee and mayor are disappointments. What about the teachers? Should we start naming some of those disappointments?

Can I get a "sister city" informational trip to some sunny island? I know I surely would garner something I could translate into a strand, pick a strand, any strand!
Can I bring my new BFF by the way?

What is that about? How the heck is that helping the kids of NB?

Nice pics of the island on the NBPS homepage, by the way.
I don't care who paid for it, that was unnecessary.

I wouldn't want her job and I am still willing to give her a year or two more to figure things out. Maybe she should just skip the sightseeing in the near future.

I like Bonner alot more than longo! At least with Bonner there are no puppet strings to trip over!

Yes, everyone should be given a "fair" chance. However, when your dealing with an arrogent, sarcastic and often rude lass such as herself, then please tell me how to respcect and show sympathy. I'm sorry, but she talks a good talk, but by far lacks the walk. She has time after time exhibited lack of professionalism. Her actions and words often reflect a degree of superiority and direspect for her teachers. Soooo....if one wants fairness then one should "equally" be giving it. Thank you.

She didn't solve problems, she created more and we're stuck with them not her!!!!

I think she hides the "Puppet strings" better than Longo

I would NON-renew! The woman is a dictator. I was insulted by her tone and snotty attitude at the high school on Tuesday. She treats educated people like a bunch of idiots. Insulting! Did you catch her sitting behind the curtain when Lang spoke? Then she blew him off when he tried to act professional by shaking her hand. The mayor at least had something inspiring to say to us. She had to read a script. I can think of a lot of worthwhile things we could do in the system with the 160K wasted on her.
