There are more Hispanic/Latino students than Cape Verdean students in the New Bedford school system. How come this culture is not being considered for a sister city project? Maybe those who run the program are biased toward ths group? I would like my daughter to feel proud of her culture.

Wouldn't it be nice to include all cultures? We are such a diverse community... I bet the students would love to know some of the other cultures mixed into our daily lives rather than those that dominate. The summer time is a perfect time to get introduced to these cultures in Southeastern Massachusetts with all the ethnic fairs that occur ( Greek, Polish, Portugese, Native American, etc.). Wouldn't it be wonderful to incorporate community connections through diversity education... right in our own area? Why does administration need to vacation abroad to experience diversity? Look in your back yard.

they came to the HS, before they arrived, we were told to keep our students in our classrooms- not to let them out for any reason. Why? Are we afarid the delegation would actually see what is truly happening here?
