Why are we even entertaining this garbage? Obviously written by someone who has a political agenda, was private school educated , and has no clue what actually happens on a day to day basis in public schools.
Keeping people informed is not entertaining garbage.
Our union cannot survive by pretending that education is not radically changing, for better or for worse. Refusing to acknowledge the changes we face doesn't exactly guarantee our place at the discussion table.
radically changing? perhaps. What will never change is the need to have a stable, secure, and respected body of educators. What we MUST stop is the cult for radical action no matter what form it takes. As long as it sends a message and targets a villain. This is what happened in the Central Falls circus. PB Barnum has left. Let's not let the Standard Times put on another big top show to please its editorial board.
