I hope it abolishes the MCAS Test as an indicator of anything.....colleges do NOT care about our MCAS Test! Why label a school as underperforming based on a useless measurement system?
It will be interesting to see who downloads this new info to us since they cut the coaches. I have an idea. Maybe the ********* will actually have to leave their offices and come into the elementary schools! What do they do again? And how many teachers could have been saved if they were let go? Oh, but then ***** *'s wife would have to be cut. We can't have that now, can we!
******? Aren't all teachers in the classrooms throughout New Bedford "highly qualified" ? Don't we have degrees in content and are certified to teach?
I'm sure that these ****** work as expected but what did we do before ******?
Furthermore I can't believe that this blog is becoming a place where educated individuals feel the need to bash other professional educators personally!

When I read your comments it sounded like you were bashing "professional educators personally."
What happened to all of us before Mcas we all went to college got our degrees contribute to society, somehow we all made it. Now it seems that the emphasis is on a test and not on the child as a whole. Children need to be educated to care, create a work ethic in them, show their creative sides, not only teach them to a test that will do nothing for them in the future, except ruin their lives if they can not get a high school diploma...
MCAS = the schools as big business model-uses only two types of intelligences and forgets all the other mulitple intelligences that we all possess. Is this a good education for our children? Not everyone is logical or word smart, but we are forced to squeeze our our circles, triangles, ovals into square pegw to conform. What a bunch of rubbish!

I believe that Mcas testing is only increasing the drop out rate in our schools and should be abolished.

Ironic, wouldn't you say?
We as teacher's should set the example and stick together through this difficult time and not bash one another.....
