when are poeple going to realize that Charter Schools are a drain on the funds of Public Education? They have the right to toss the problem child back to the public schools.... want to impress me, take a school of trouble makers and accomplish all the things you boast about!

I realize that I know very little about Our Sisters School and the school for boys in New Bedford, but I am surprised that these organizations aren't required to hire certified teachers. And 12 hour days!!!!! Isn't that against the law? These teachers are paid a stipend? Sounds like slave labor to me.

Why not just burn "No Child Left Behind" and solve everyone's problems? Bring back Zero Tolerance policies on Violence and Bullying. Enforce the existing attendance policy with a vengeance and no exceptions except for medically documented ones. Let public schools run by the same rules that charters do and none of these debates would be necesary. But then charter schools wouldn't be necessary either.
