Wasn't this guy run out of Fall River for being ineffective?
Could this tool just come out and say he wants to become a Superintendent in New Bedford. Scott Lang is not perfect, but this weasel Fischer is putting words in his mouth. Only an idiot like Fischer is unable to view the endless inherent flaws of MCAS...to deny a 17 or 18 year old a diploma after they have successfully met state standards for 13 years (K - 12) is criminal. Without adjustments to the current state requirements, over 90% of all schools will be labeled underperforming, how could this be possible when Massachusetts outperforms the entire nation on every assessment. The whole high-stakes testing is comical and the opposite of common sense.
He's an impressive charlatan. We could learn some marketing lessons from him. He knows how to impress the paper and the community loudmouths. He says the same thing over and over and over - claiming that the schools "are saying" that scores are acceptable. But who the heck is saying that?
I guess the bigger question is- Have students who are moved from grade to grade successfully met the state standards for 13 years? Who is going to admit that the system keeps them moving ready or not. When it comes time for kids to show what they know they cannot preform.

He's a joke. Talks a good game but doesn't have a clue.
