This is an interesting segment. However, I did not appreciate the bashing of the school system. The NBPS has some of the best teachers I have ever worked with. Our problems stem from illegal immigration, dysfunctional families, a lack of resources, and an administration that fails to hold children and families accountable for learning. The charlatans that criticize teachers don't know how to solve these issues. Teachers are being scapegoated.
If teachers in New Bedford are the problem for the failing status, then apparently all the great teachers are in Lexington and Westwood.Isn't that the current thinking?
