It sounds strange to hear the UIA talking about God. They've never done it past, usually they just push their political agendas.

United Interfaith Action is an organization of religious congregations and other groups working to identify and push for solutions to community challenges.

Great! Stop blaming teachers and start doing something about poverty.

Sounds like they are pushing Charter schools.

Would all the teachers who have been contacted by the UIA and the Roundtable please let us know how things are progressing.

Small isn't always better. Brockton High is bigger than NBHS and they have made astounding progress and have proved that big schools can succeed. And I didn't even have to travel very far to figure that out. They were given the budget, tools and support they needed to get the job done and they did. The environment there is a learning one and any individual that seeks to disrupt that environment is not tolerated and removed to an alternative setting. Many people in NB dont want to look at the real problems of the district and admit what really needs to be done because perhaps it would be unpopular with many. This and elected officials tripping over their own egos, are our where our problems originate and will continue until the rose colored glasses come off. No offense to UIA, but they have no idea what they are talking about. That graduation rate doesn't reflect twilight, night school, fifth year and extra semester graduates which bumps that number up exponentially. It also demonstrates the dedication of the high school works to drag some of these graduates across the finish line. But no one notices that because most people fail to do their homeowrk. And then they wonder why children are failing. Maybe this is how churches plan to resurrect (no pun intended) their dying population of private schools due to lack of enrollment.

They are just another private organization with a personal and political agenda. We have separation between church and state in this country and the day that changes is that day I leave this country. If religious schools were not shutting down all over the country, they would have no interest in what we lowly public school people are doing.
