Spillane's reaction seems a bit over the top. Perhaps he did not attend the same forum I attended.

Spillane put a negative spin on a very positive event.

Jack, I didn't see you at the forum. Were you there?

Thank God only a handful of people still read that newspaper.

Chuck should wear Spillane's criticism as a badge of honor. I know he will.

That reporter didn’t like the message so he has attempted to assassinate the messenger. What a guy!

In my opinion Spill totally misrepresented what he saw at the event.

Chuck is a private citizen... he should file suit against Jack Spillane and the Standard Times for defamation of character.... especially in the light of the anti-bullying legislation...

It is never a question of fact or truth, it is more important to hear how Jack feeeeeeeeels about it.

I guess Spillane thrives on attention-mostly negative. He can't control himself-any negative spin on education in New Bedford, he has his greedy, ignorant hands in the fray. It's no wonder he works for such a low class paper. Maybe the Enquirer could use him!

Excuse me but who doesn't get ticked off every time Marlene Pollock opens her mouth? She should "open a door" and let herself out. That woman is one of the worst obstacles this district has. She is an enabler of heinous behavior. Maybe one day she will realize that the very people she helps are laughing behind her back and calling her a sucker. Way to go Chuck! I hope there's a rematch!!

Since when is it not okay to voice your opinion and disagree with a school committee member? Pollock was talking about small autonomous schools? Then why the hell did they just build the new Lincoln school that houses what was formerly 3 smaller elementary schools? And where's all the money to build, staff and resource all these small schools? Didn't they just go through several consecutive years of massive budget cuts? Leave it up to the sub-standard times to not call out the hypocritical politician. What kind of journalists are you? (that's a rhetorical question. I don't think you are real journalists) Even the paparazzi has more testicular fortitude. Talk about a one trick pony. Not even a good trick. They always go with that negative sucker punch to the gut. Those Negative Nancys need to get together with the Toxic Teachers and get the hell out of New Bedford!

Definition of bullying:
1. someone who poses a threat to another, whether physical, emotional or social
2. difference in power over the other person or group
3. repeated behavior

Jack, you better look in the mirror. You sound like a bully!
