BCC Computer Programming Contest Results

Last Wednesday, May 26th, 16 New Bedford High School students competed in a programming contest at BCC.  Six teams from our school competed against almost 50 students from 5 other schools.  Teams were given 3 hours to construct up to 16 programs, ranging in difficulty. This was NBHS's first year entering a competition of this caliber.  I am happy to report that the team of Tyrone Williams ('12), Devin Viegas('12), Noah Gioiosa('14) won 1st place.  The achieved a score of 330 points, more than double the score of the second place team.  The three have completed the series of programming classes that NBHS offers and are currently finishing the AP Java course.

We are very proud of all our students.

Sincerely,

Mr. Bosworth, M.Ed.
Mr. Houtman

Congratulations! I was one of Devin's 8th grade teachers. I enjoy hearing about the successes of my former students. When the students and parents are engaged/motivated, New Bedford does provide a quality education!
