What has changed in the NBPS since Jon "Miracle Worker" Mitchell took office? It would appear just the name on the superintendent's door. Incompetent principals are still in place. Middle school students with all F's and dismal attendance are being shoved on to fail at New Bedford High. The school committee continues to embrace the UIA, Education Rountable, and Teach for America. A vote for Mitchell just bought you more of the status quo. Jon Mitchell. He's not man enough to change anything.
The complainants against certain principals seem to expect a dictatorial fiat to dismiss their chosen targets but decry the lack of process involved in Francis case or in the proposed stand fc proposals. No logic, watchdogs
The incompetent middle school principals have been called in MANY times to discuss various incidents. One should have been canned for a mismanagement of funds involving a federal program. She cried (Her usual M.O. on how to deal with a difficult situation) and everything was smoothed over.
The article about middle school discipline was very complimentary of Darcy Fernandes. Can we send her to Normandin to straighten the mess up there? After all, she is an expert on EVERYTHING.
The Normandin teacher in the artilce was 100% right. Normandin is a mess and, unless Mitchell and Shea grow a pair and get rid of Bonneau, it will be that way again next year.
Just on a political level, I don't see how Mitchell can ignore what is being written and said about Bonneau and Normandin. I also know for a fact that he's heard A LOT more bad stuff than what appeared in the paper.
Let's talk about Dr. Danielle Carrigo. She is one of the newest stars over at PRAB in the new "CSI: NBPS Edition."
If it moves or breathes, Danielle investigates and usually brings an attorney. Her probes are thorough in that they never conclude. Danielle is quiet and demure in public, but she gets shrill and rude behind the scenes. Who will she investigate next? We'll leave that for tomorrow "As the PRAB Turns....."
Has anyone noticed that there have been new staff members added to Prab? Where are the funds coming from? It is interesting that there is money to pay for more staff members at Prab so that once again we can become top heavy....why arent they addressing the real issues? Discipline, low parental involvement, lack of basic skills, passing students along, large class sizes, useless technology, administrative issues and on and on. What do they do? Keep hiring new staff and making new positions at Prab. Where is the logic?
I guarantee you I know who cried when they were busted with misuse of government funding...it is the M.O. of this principal to try to make people feel sorry for her when all of her other tactics fail to work (usually in this order: lying, manipulating, harassing, bullying, and then, when all else fails, and she knows she can't win, crying. How predictable...

Administrators work hard too
Mitchell talked big but the bully principals are still in place.

Once the stand legislation is enacted Paul Toner will be gone and the next Mta president will be left with the mess left behind. Thanks a lot Paul.

Bonneau looked really clueless in that article. She's running Normandin into the ground. Mr. Shea says the issues are on his radar screen?
