Coalition calls for overhaul of city's ELL program - Submitted by a member
I’m confused; the Standard Times article states that School Committee member Marlene Pollock, a longtime member of the Coalition for Social Justice, was a critic of not one but several policies pertaining to ELL students. She is also a proponent of innovative schools. The reason why this is so puzzling is that as a School Committee member Ms. Pollock is part of the problem that she is proposing to change. As a School Committee member she has the power to impact policy, so what are you doing Ms. Pollock to promote change from within instead of seeking solutions elsewhere? Are you part of the solution or part of the problem?
