Quote of the week
No need to elaborate, the statement says it all.
"The reality is that if these Innovation Schools are prevented from opening, these design teams can take their proposals and submit them to the state to be opened as charter schools." - Marsha Onufrak and Tammy Rivet, United Interfaith Action (UIA) Political Group

If that's even up for consideration, it's just more proof that what's at work is ideology and not the interests of children in the New Bedford Public School System.
The editorial is misleading throughout.
"A not so veiled threat", would be a good title for their editorial.
Another title could have been: Innovation Schools or Else.
This is more proof that what's at work is ideology and not the interests of children in the New Bedford Public School System.
If UIA parents/religious disorder are so concerned, let them open a school in their own churches!!! Oh! I forgot! They want PUBLIC money!!
Does it occur to the writer of this letter that maybe we should try to fix the INEQUALITY in ALL of the schools, rather than exacerbate it? I AM one of those teachers who does not have enough textbooks for all the students in my class, least of all for them to take home and do homework. Many of my fellow teachers at the high school are in the same boat. But then, the high school seems to be the red-headed stepchild in many decisions. One needs only to look at the "computer labs" in total disrepair and the teachers' computer facilities or lack thereof. No toner, no paper, printers that don't work, and inaccessible "repair request forms".....shall I go on? Why? It's not like anything is going to be done about it....
Marsha Onufrak and Tammy Rivet have once again shown us what Uia is about. They don't care about our children. They care about pushing the Uia agenda.
Marsha and Tammy should get coal in their stocking! Not being very charitable this Holiday season... I'm telling Santa!
UIA is union busting 101. I can't believe any teacher in their right mind would even support these evangelists!
