Why didn't Mayor Mitchell attend the meeting tonight? Why did he leave last week's meeting early?

Those who seek to prosper by public rallies, lobbying and media pressure are now outraged at public pressure. Sweet irony. Ignoring 40 fellow teachers to seek out 40 community players is no way to craft a school.

A project that deliberately silences teachers deserves to fail

Mayor Mitchell had a meeting he needed to attend last Wednesday at 7:30. He said it near the beginning of the meeting. Why he scheduled a meeting during the two hours scheduled for the School Board meeting is beyond me.

As to the question: "Why didn't Mayor Mitchell attend the meeting?" my answer is HE JUST DOESN'T CARE. This meeting like last week's meeting, which he left 52 minutes before the end of the meeting, were meetings he made. No one else set the date or time for the meeting! Jon does what Jon wants to do. Case closed!!!!

I wonder if Mayor Mitchell will attend the School Committee on Monday or will he have another commitment that night.

When the Mayor of a City facing an increasingly tight school budget does NOT attend the meetings, it speaks volumes about his commitment. He did not hear the speakers and therefore demonstrated by his lack of participation that this really was not an open forum. We need to stand strong together on this issue as well as many other issues that we face during the upcoming school year.

Mitchell knows that the majority of people oppose these schools so he didnt want to be at the meeting. Obviously he will vote to approve the schools. It's the Uia way.
