Your thoughts on yesterday's Special School Committee meeting.

One can hope, but...a funny thing happened. I was fortunate enough to be part of a professional learning committee beyond the Superintendent's level, and from a different perspective. Was it any eye-opener! And to substantiate my claim of just how broken this district really is, I need to share...When I went to the Admin Bldg, I asked the person in charge a direct question related to his title. His response? I am not the expert. What? But the plaque outside your office door says....We are brighter than the ones running the show...

How about.....a complete and total waste of time? The best they could come up with is to form an alumni association and donate money?? By far the dumbest thing I have ever heard. And that "ridiculousness" came from a member of the School Committee member with a Doctorate! No wonder the school department is in trouble.

Tell the good "doctor" to make the first donation from his own pocket.

From what I read in today's paper - it was another waste of time. The suggestion that the community and alumni help by donating money is ridiculous. If that's the best idea for improving test scores than I am convinced now more than ever that the members of our school committee have lost their minds. I wish they could be removed from office immediately (which is probably going to happen to more than one principal or teacher) - the next best thing is to vote them out!

I think those doctorates are the free ones some members of our administration got a few years go.

I'm an alumni that has given back with everything I have... emotionally, physically, and financially. I AM A NBPS TEACHER!

I hope that what people took away from the special meeting was that the district is in dire need of significant support from ALL stakeholders in this community. It can't be all on the teachers- and the superintendent recognized that.

Her words were just that - words. The only people she can hold accountable is us.the stakeholders are MIA and she is nothing but a bully. The purpose of the speech was to impress the camera. She couldn't care less about us.

It starts from the top, and if that is not addressed, there will be no change.
