It's my understanding that using this very detailed teacher rubric in the first round of these evaluations the administrators were to focus on one specific area, and evaluate based on that.
Naturally when the observations and interviews take place, administrators are free to take action where ever there are actionable issues. However, The aim of the first round for sure was simply to practice the process. These evaluations are way more in depth and standardized than what would be realistically possible to implement in one single year district wide even for smaller districts like Greater New Bedford Vocational-Technical or Global Learning Charter School.
It's impossible to tell how productive, and effective they will be until a couple more rounds have been implemented we need not rush to judgment until the process has completely rolled out.
Then by all means, evaluate the evaluation tool.

Bullard thinks we are a jobs program? What happened to that man? He is a union buster and a twisted reformer. You can't come to the right conclusion without opening the book. Mr. Bullard, I have never seen you in the schools since you left office. Where is your authority?

Bullard got most of his jobs through the rich peoples jobs program....
Bullard, like is friends on the Education Roundtable, are totally clueless. Bullard never went through the New Bedford Public School system as he lived in South Dartmouth and went to private school. Bet he never sent his children to public school.
After reading the list of supporters for Durkin, I recognized many of the names associated with the Education Roundtable, UIA, Coalition of Social Justice, some of the names on the list non-residents of New Bedford, and a few NB residents who send their children to private school.
Ask yourself, what is in it for them?
