A message for NBEA

This message is for Lou St. John and all my brother and sisters in the New Bedford Educators Association currently under assault from Superintendent Durkin and whoever is assisting Durkin in driving this union busting enterprise down the throats of teachers at New Bedford High School.

It is our experience here in Springfield that "turnaround plans" are political tools to spread fear and confusion amongst the unionized teaching populations.  They damage vulnerable kids and achieve nothing but PR marketing for the anti-public education forces arrayed against us in the urban classrooms. The failure of society to solve our cities' urban social problems is not the fault of hard working teachers from New Bedford. We, I, in the E-board,  support you, salute and urge you to fight this emerging war on your professional honor and commitment.

I will be there for your rally on January 17.  This but the opening salvo in a bitter struggle.

Executive Board Member at Large

Thank you for your words of encouragement! This is really doing a number on us and it is so hard to witness and be a part of. We all just want to help these kids have a decent future and enrich their lives. What a slap in the face this whole process has been. Finding some comfort in all the support coming forth.
