Public education should be one of the most valued aspects of the American System. All teachers should be given the respect that is earned through hard work and dedication. What is happening in New Bedford is heinous and wrong.

I love teaching at New Bedford High School. I work with an incredible group of students who struggle with hunger, a place to live, lack of parents or guidance, who move from one place to another, limited education coming from other countries, families who are transient and are unable to read or write in their own language. I purchase note books, binders, pens, pencils, markers and colored pencils, poster boards, books, workbooks, use my own computer in class, provide hats, mittens, jackets, sweatshirts and loving kindness, acceptance, tolerance and forgiveness. I value the life of every student I work with and it greatly saddens me that I need to look for other options. I could loose my home and many other things in my life and mostly the career that I worked so hard for. I payed my own way through school and I'm very proud of my accomplishments and proud of the work I've done with my students. I am not garbage to be tossed around, I'm a human being with strengths and weaknesses. I am not perfect but I work to the best of my ability and I take the time to learn something new everyday.
