Not safe. No trust. Out of control. No discipline policies.
Why should our elementary and middle school students behave when there are no consequences from administration? They hear stories about the high school, have siblings there, and know they can push the limit. If we had better role models leading our schools, teachers would not feel so helpless. Pia has made it clear to her principals that if a student is a repeat offender, and the teacher makes too much noise, get rid of that teacher. Make no mistake, these principals follow through.
I will tell you now, If a child hits me, kicks me or bites me-which has happened, I am filing a law suit against the family and good old Pia! I don't care how ignorant and loud the parent becomes.....lousy parent...lousy kid!
Effective education leadership makes a difference in improving learning.
Successful educational leaders develop their districts and schools as effective organizations that support and sustain the performance of administrators and teachers, as well as students.
This principal is as deceitful and devious as Durkin. She will do and say anything to remain in Durkin's good graces with the hope of "moving up". And yes, she was hired by Durkin.
When a student tells his teacher, "I'm going to f...king stab you!", doesn't the principal have an obligation to address the issue and back up the teacher? This is a genuine concern.
I can tell you that Pia Durkin is telling principals not to talk to parents to avoid any liability. They know they are in hot water up to their ears. Parents are getting ticked off and some of this misplaced anger is directed at teachers. Hide. Don't talk, don't tell...
If you know a teacher/staff member at DeValles encourage them to speak up-even if it is anonymously. How can you claim to care about students if you stay silent?
I'm not quite sure why this thread was even started...I don't see one for ALL of the other schools in NB! This doesn't seem like a way to solve any problems, just a way to add fuel to the fire.

Did Pia hire that principal?

Some principals are scared of Pia Durkin.

Pia's poison is trickling into all our schools. Shame on the mayor and SC for having no backbone or integrity.

This principal does not want us speaking to the public about what goes on in DeValles. We've been threatened.

These principals have no self-respect.
So disappointing!

No Safety+No Discipline=No Teaching and Learning
our principal will cut our throats to stay on durkin's good side
principal has favorites and ousted the rest of us
She wants something from Pia and will stoop to any means to get there.
Isn't pia moving this principal... Just move people around !
My principals a sell out,she acts nice to you in front of you but lies and stabs you in the back,,
Principals are telling staff they better keep quiet or their coming after them.
