It doesn't impact the school department budget at all. The remainder goes to the cities general fund. This has been happening since at least 2006. I wouldn't trust Pia with this money. She hasn't proved responsible managing the money she has. Scott Lang and Jon Mitchell have been raiding school chapter 70 money for years to supplement the city's budget.
Unbelievable. How can this be legal? The state funds the entire school department budget, so the mayor shouldn't have a say in how it's spent, it's not the city's money.
