There are discipline problems are every school. Lincoln for example, seems to have at least 3 or 4 kids per class that destroy the learning environment. They kick and push and scream not only at the kids but at the teachers! Parents should be held accountable for their child's behavior seeing that they brought their child up in an unacceptable manner. We are blessed with an amazing principal, but her hands are tied! the teachers...we try...but we don't get the support from Durkin. ... we get replaced. We are told by DeFalco and Durkin we are not good enough. There is usually a reason why people go into administration positions...they can't keep up in the classroom. Chris Cotter..look into Lincoln ...200 kids over the safe limit....need I say more?
Political correctness is to blame. Parents will never be held responsible for their ineptitude in raising their children. It is always someone else’s fault. The politicians are allowing this to happen in every aspect of social culture. To the teacher; it is sad to say but you are fighting a loosing battle with little or no support from the SC or administration. The big shots are in it for the money. No matter what kind of edu-cratic spin they put on it, they will be out of N.B. along with their last pay check. And that my friends, you can take to the bank!
These behaviors in our schools are a system wide problem,it's an unwritten rule that you better keep your mouth shut about it if you know whats good for you.....If you say anything they will come after you and make your life a living hell.
We have a phenomenal acting assistant principal at our school. This person jumped into the position and has already helped to change the culture of our school. It shows that it can be done!!!! The sad part is that she isn't interested in a permanent position and I can't say I blame her . I know she enjoys being a teacher ( she's a very good one ) but you can tell that she enjoys administration as well. It makes me wonder what the district would be like if more people like her were in administrative positions .
I can tell you that she has been a teacher for over 20 years and if you knew her you wouldn't say that. She gets it and I don't think a permanent the position would change that. These kids that spend a couple of years in a classroom haven't been in the trenches long enough to forget then they get some power and it all goes down hill from there . We need more administrators like her!
I hear the teachers at Hay Mac and the other schools in our "wonderful" district get kicked, pushed and slapped by the students . What wonderful parents they must have! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol. The charter radio guy who thinks teachers are overpaid government workers
Why is he making excuses for the parents? It's their job, not the teachers to get their kids to school! God!
He is over paid for acting like a dumb ass! Just to clarify, I am a parent..I work-stop making excuses for lousy parents.
