Unfortunately, this move will see an increase in cheating and the scores will paint even less of a truer picture of a student.
So many factors influence the testing outcomes of our students. Until parents, principals, and administrators (yes...even those at PRAB) also figure into the mix a single classroom teacher cannot be held totally accountable for a test single score. Are there incompetent teachers? Yes. We all know one. Holding them responsible for a score that many others have also influenced is unfair and unethical. Classroom teachers need support and powerful PD....smaller class sizes and a district that actually cares about students rather than public perception and the mayor's kuddos.
