The ELL “Crisis”… I Whaling City Watch
One of the main stumbling blocks to effectively educating these students is the state mandated model. Under the former bilingual system, children were taught core academic classes in their native language for up to three years while learning English. This is reasonable as experts say that it takes students around seven (7) years to truly master the academic vocabulary that is a prerequisite for school success. Most observers believed this system worked and students were better prepared when they entered the mainstream classroom.

Another "crisis" created by the standard times. The last "crisis" resulted in Francis losing her job. Whose head will role next?
