Innovation Presentations: Esperanza

My favorite part of the presentation was this: a quotation on why the innovation school process is so beneficial:
“It empowers teachers to have a voice.”
That’s funny, because the voice of the teachers at Roosevelt has been squelched throughout the whole process. They weren’t given a voice because if it were up to them, Esperanza would not be setting up shop in their building.

To all teachers, let your voices sound out loud and clear that you are opposed to the Innovation School on March 27. This is your chance to stand up and speak out. I'll be there doing that and hopefully you will be next to me.

Today the target schools are Gomes and Roosevelt, tomorrow it could be your school. The supporters of these schools want to establish more innovation schools throughout the district. Be prepared!
