A real morale booster ... Submitted to NBEA
Why would you announce your plans to terminate two hundred employees a week before Christmas, then expect teacher to continue to do their best for the remaining 6 months....in what world is this "good management practice ?" Looks like we hired another dud.

Henry: Thank you! Thank you for all the support and concern that you show to your New Bedford Residents. People keep forgetting that many of us live in NB, spend our money in NB and most importantly VOTE in NB. SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE CHILDREN BY SUPPORTING YOUR TEACHERS!
Totally agree. Guess Mayor Mitchell just got an early Christmas gift. How many times did we hear him say that we were in eminent danger for state takeover!!!!
Thank you, Henry for your support and especially for having the courage to speak up and state the truth of what is really happening in our school department. It's too bad your former colleague, Jane Gonsalves supports the superintendent and turns her back on 200 NBHS teachers.
She is the wicked witch of the New Bedford!
rumor has it that the district has advertise for 20 new sub positions on school spring. They better add another 0 to that because I would not want to be around the high school in May and June. It will be out right dangerous
apparently no one downtown has calculated what it's going to cost the system in actual dollars. the superintendent has thrown down the gauntlet. Those of us left unemployed will be picking it up and throwing it back at her
Want to turn around the high school Pia? I think I have the solution which is getting rid of every student who are serious offenders of the school rules. How many of these unruly students are cutting classes, roaming the corridors, being disruptive in class, walking out of class at the drop of a hat, cutting detention, acting up in in-school suspension, causing fights with other students, bullying others, acting out in the house office, refusing to do the work or take test, being disrespectful to teachers and staff, have high absenteeism and leaving school without permission? Pia, have you or your newly appointed School Improvement Manager done the statistics on these offenses? It should be very easy to get all the data then you will be able to really address the problem(s).
In order school to have academic success, you need to have strong discipline. Students should not be running the schools. Schools need strong leaders who are willing to support the faculty and staff.
Totally agree with this statement. Wonder how the students are going to react once they know that half the faculty will be gone. Good luck NBHS teachers, you will need it!
The Grinch Song
You're a mean one, Durkin Grinch
You really are a heel,
You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel, Durkin Grinch,
You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel!
You're a monster,Durkin Grinch,
Your heart's an empty hole,
Your brain is full of spiders, you have garlic in your soul, Durkin Grinch,
I wouldn't touch your district with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole!
May I ask who the newly appointed School Improvement Manager is? When did that happen?
