New Bedford City Council wants data on school textbooks

The City Council is one again asking important questions of the NBPS administration. And once again - there are few answers. I give the City Council credit for demanding accountability from the people who are leading our public school system. What makes them think that they do not have to answer to any one? I am sick and tired of the evasiveness and total lack of respect for the tax payers and residents of this city that is displayed daily by the school administration. Why all the deceit? Why is the truth being hidden? Does any one besides me find it inconceivable that there are 400 worthy and capable students enrolled in AP classes at NBHS? If that is the case...then why is NBHS a level 4 school? It's about time that the people of New Bedford get some honest answers from the administration, school committee, and the mayor about what is really going on in the school department.

Shame on the administration for not having enough books ! Where are they spending the money. Obviously not on books. There hasn't been 1 capitol improvement project this fiscal year. Spending $$ on consultants is more important than books. This administration led by Pia Durkin is absolutely inept. They are in a fantasy land with no one challenging them. Shame on the school committee. On the bright side, at least the website looks good.

Pia Durkin is a lemon. The stream of outsiders has only made the situation worse.
