The whole evaluation process in New Bedford is flawed and a disgrace to our profession.some evaluators use the process as retribution for past slights, ways of getting older teachers out so that they can get their friends in,or they give good evaluations to teachers they like and who kiss their a.......

Any educator who speaks up and voices their opinion and goes against them in any shape or form is a target

They are sneaky and sly and would lie about people with a straight face..they know exactly what their doing but have no soul...hopefully the universe will seek just for all they have wronged.

This talk about evaluations, the progress, and the staff at NBHS is whitewash. Many if not most of the best teachers, including the teacher of the year are gone. The evaluations done last year don't reflect what is happening there now at all. What kind of teacher would want to stay in an environment where your eval says exemplary and the letter in the mailbox says your fired. The superintendent is full of it(SH) and she turns everything into a whitewash campaign.

Think the ethics commission from the state needs to look into these evaluators and investigate them.

Also audits should be done at each school to see where the money is going and especially any connections in relationship to hiring friends and family,or friends and family of people they hire.

Also investigate these after school programs..see where and to whom that money is going to. This might also be a good investigative story for the standard times,,Where is the money going?

Every evaluation system that has been in place for the 30+ years that I have taught in New Bedford has been flawed including this one. Every one of these systems are subjective. Let's be honest here-if your evaluator "likes" you, you will be given an exemplary or proficient evaluation. If not-who knows-you could be given needs improvement or unsatisfactory. It doesn't matter what evaluation tool is in place. The only difference with the current system is principals are being held accountable for actually doing them.

Hate to break the news to you but some principals are not doing the evaluations themselves they are getting help with them from colleagues who help them with grammar and spelling and content.

Is it not time that teachers start evaluating the evaluators,or every teacher who that evaluator ,evaluates has a say in the evaluators ,evaluation.

and how about, three to five evaluators from every school help evaluate that bunch at PRAB.

Speaking of which, someone needs to keep an eye and ear open to what's going on there now.
